The Rhedhead Mermaid
Here you will get to see some of the many things I am up to; from crafting to decorating. This is where the fun begins...
Literally! So excited to share my new scrapbook page/ sketch that I finished last night! It took me about 2 hours or so. With the help of my wonderful husband (whom helps me out when I get stuck on something :)) I managed to finish this beautiful page and feel very confident about it. This page is actually of my sister-in-laws family (her hubby and 2 sons; my adorable and crazy nephews). These were photos taken last year but I thought I would step out of the box a bit and try something completely different from the beach theme and my husband and I as my main focal point. I think it came out amazing! Take a look for yourself. I used a few ideas from different sketches I found on pinterest; most of which I believe were either currently or previously part of the design team for Pretty Little Studio; They were THAT good! So I took a couple of ideas from those and brought them together into my own page. I am not so great with following any one sketch to a T, so I think for my first collaboration it c
I am so excited! Today I got all of my ducks in a row and took the leap in entering into my first Design Team call! I am so excited! If were chosen this would be my first ever. I don't want to get my hopes up since this is my first and I am very much a beginner, but how great would it be if I were chosen. So for this post I am going to share with you my 3 entries that I chose.
I really enjoyed working on this piece. It was so relaxing and everything just seemed to work so well. This was also taken at our photo session in 2009; yes we love the beach! It was such a perfect moment, hence the use of metallic colors and writing 'I love you' like you do in love letters. It came out to be a perfect addition to my collection.
I hope these are enough to make some heads spin or at least enough to get noticed. Even if not now, then eventually and I will still keep at the work that I am doing. Art is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing hobbies one could ever take up. It is great therapy too; and it ends up costing about the same ;) Ta ta for now!
So, I have always been the sort of crafty, artsy person that I seem to appear even in my cupcakes. I mean I even chose a career (that of doing hair) because I knew that I could still be an artist of some sort and not have to wait until I die to make a decent living. I have always dabbled in painting, drawing/ sketching and photography just to name a few; I should have included an etc in there but you get where I am going with this. So I have now entered into the world of scrapbooking. I must admit, at first it is quite overwhelming but in a good way. I remember the first time I ever went to my first hair show and I was blown away. I was in awe as to everything there was to do and see and I just felt that I couldn't get enough. Well, low and behold...another one of my ventures gives me that same feeling; SCRAPBOOKING! The first time I went shopping I could get enough. I was turned onto it by a good friend of mine as well as a wonderful nurse I use to work with. I could not help but become completely submerged in this form of art. So here I will show you some of my work; now remember, I am a newbie but it is only up from here.
I hope you enjoyed some of the new pieces I have done! I have only scratched the surface with this new hobby however, I can only imagine that this is just the start of a beautiful relationship.
